We don’t tend to run toward people who are cold, hostile, and angry. The truth is, we avoid them.
How do you see God? How do you envision Him? Do you see God as a loving Father, a tender daddy, an approachable Abba? Or, do you see Him as an angry taskmaster who is always disappointed with you?
Yes, God is glorious, holy, and all-powerful. We should bow down before Him in humble worship and approach Him with reverence. And, God is a tender dad who wants the best for us and invites us to call Him Abba. Romans 8:14-17 says:
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
If you have come to God through faith in Jesus, draw near Him with confidence. Run to your heavenly Father. Climb up into His lap and tell Him you love Him. He really does love you…not just in theory, but in reality.
